Amanda Gail & Michael – Greenbo Park KY Wedding

I met Amanda Gail several years ago while I was photographing another wedding, and was so happy when she contacted me about the possibility of photographing her beautiful autumn wedding this year. She’s full of life, warm, welcoming, and really just about everything a photographer could ask for in a bride. Michael is obviously crazy about her, and thinks she’s everything he could ask for in a bride, as well. The day could not have been more beautiful, and was full of love, emotion, and more than a couple ladybugs.

Thank you both so very much. I really enjoyed myself, and hope you enjoy the photos. And don’t miss the slideshow with even more images at the bottom.

Katie & Rob – Mt. Sterling KY Wedding

Katie and Rob met after her sister and brother-in-law convinced them they would be perfect for each other. They shared a love of books, which gave them plenty to talk about even though they lived miles apart. Eventually that love of books turned into a love of each other, and seven years later (to the day, yes?) they were married on the most beautiful August day I can ever remember at the scenic Mt. Sterling Golf & Country Club in Katie’s home town. What a fun, fun day (did I mention beautiful?). Katie & Rob, thank you so much for trusting me with your wedding photos – I hope they don’t disappoint.

Scott & Whitney – Charleston, WV Wedding

Scott and Whitney had dated for a while, but last summer while on a beach vacation, Scott just knew. So one night while enjoying a romantic evening on the sand, Scott told Whitney he needed to use the bathroom, ran to a nearby jewelry shop and bought the first ring the guy held up, ran back to Whitney and asked her to marry him because he just. couldn’t.  wait.

Thankfully, she said yes, and almost one year exactly later they were married. He had since bought her another ring, but she wears them both – one on each hand. And while that certainly isn’t the most conventional engagement story I’ve heard, I love how obviously crazy Scott is about Whitney, and how securely confident she is in his love for her.

They were married at the University of Charleston on the patio overlooking the Capitol. The day was absolutely beautiful, and their reception was truly one of the most entertaining I’ve had the opportunity to attend.

Scott and Whitney, thank you so very much for allowing me to document your very, very fun day. Thank you for being so ridiculously in love, and for having such crazy fun family and friends to make my job even more fun than average. I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon – at the beach, of course – and that these photos help your memories of the wedding day seem even sweeter.

Andy & Sara – Charleston WV Wedding

Andy and Sara found me online, and we agreed to meet for dinner several months back. At first meetings I ask questions about the wedding, explain my approach t0 photographing a wedding, and just spent time getting to know one another. I left the restaurant  a couple hours later feeling like I had just made two new friends. I was so excited to hear their wedding was taking place a picnic shelter at Coonskin Park, and was going to have less than 100 guests. A small, picnic-style, laid back wedding? Yes, please! We started the day at their apartment, which is the downstairs of this amazing old house. I was able to photograph Sara getting ready, and both of them separately in the garden next to their apartment. Then we moved to the park where I found tons of really fun handmade decorations and details, and totally delicious food AND cake.

One of my favorite moments of the day was before the ceremony when I commented to Andy about how great everything looked, he agreed, saying that Sara had a vision for the wedding and that he was really impressed with how well she had pulled everything together. I couldn’t agree more. Andy and Sara – I cannot thank you enough for trusting me with your wedding day photos. I certainly hope they don’t disappoint. It was an honor to spend the day with you. And once the rest of your photos are finished, can we hang out?

Don’t forget the slideshow at the end.

Jennifer & Daniel – South Charleston WV Wedding

I met Jennifer and Daniel months ago, and loved how easy going and practical they are. They are both work in education, and so have a quiet, determined passion for helping kids do well. They also have a quiet, determined passion for each other – which was obvious on their wedding day. When we met a couple weeks ago, Daniel joked that he would probably be the one crying during their first look  and Jennifer would probably be giggling (they opted to see each other before the ceremony, which I LOVE).  And that’s exactly how it happened, and is a good picture of how the rest of the day went, as well. Daniel was often overwhelmed with emotion, while Jennifer took everything in with a smile and laugh.

Jen & Daniel, I thank you so very much for having me to photograph your wedding day. I enjoyed it so much, and hope these photos make Daniel a little misty-eyed and Jennifer grin. :-)
