I first met Amanda about five years ago when I was her counselor at a summer camp. She was in my cabin. I remember having to tell her to hurry up a number of times (high school girls like to piddle, no?), and likely told her to go to bed, because what can I say – I like my sleep. Despite all that, we kept in touch over the years, and she asked me last summer to photograph her wedding. I was, of course, thrilled. I met Josh last summer when I did their engagement session and one thing was clear – they were crazy about each other. Amanda is goofy and animated, Josh is serious and sincere. Together, they’re a great couple. Thanks for asking me to be part of your day, guys, and part of your lives.

I was honored to photograph Anthony & Meagan’s wedding, not only because they’re totally cute and fun, but also because the father of the bride is a hobbyist photographer and I knew he at least had confidence that I would do a decent job. That may or may not have made me a tad nervous. I’ll never tell.
Either way, they were married on July 3 in a beautiful ceremony followed by an equally lovely reception that just so happened to occur near sunset, and just so happened to be followed with plenty of sparklers and… FIREWORKS! In fact, I stayed late just so I wouldn’t miss the fireworks. It’s all in a day’s work, folks. I think it was worth the extra effort.
Congratulations, guys – hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

Elizabeth & Jason met by chance, if you believe in such a thing. Either way, it’s clear they’re completely crazy about each other. And in spite of Elizabeth’s habit of frequent blinking and Jason’s habit of making funny faces anytime a camera is near, I was able to capture the moments of their wedding in ways that even I am thrilled with.
First of all – the light. Was this sanctuary built for photography or what? Thank you, architect of St. Matthew’s Episcopal in Charleston, whoever you are.

And these are an amazing “something blue,” don’t you think?

And apparently Elizabeth has the world’s tiniest fingers, because her ring fits completely inside Jason’s.

Off to the reception where there was… more amazing light!

Congratulations to both of you. And thanks so, so much for choosing me to be part of your fabulous day. Also: Thanks for choosing such great wedding and reception locations.

This past weekend, I had the fantastic privilege of photographing Callie & Charlie’s wedding. While they’ve known each other nearly their entire lives, they just began dating about a year ago. The were completely smitten with each other, and were engaged and began planning a fun, low-key wedding that fortunately involved me. There were so many great details from this wedding, and perhaps when I get further along in the editing process I can share some more, but I wanted to show off some of my very favorite images from the day. Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your day, guys!

I got a call a few months back from a bride who was having a very small, simple wedding, and she only needed about an hour of photos – the ceremony and a handful of portraits afterward. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to photograph this “small” wedding which was obviously still plenty big on love.
I always cry at weddings (even when I’m working, yes) and this one was no exception. Scott’s daughter was in the wedding party, and any time there’s a special portion of a ceremony where the bride or groom’s children are involved gets me all choked up. Maybe it’s because I have two incredible step parents myself, but there’s something about joining a blended family together that gets me.
