First Day of Preschool
Mason started preschool today. He was excited, I was excited, and Sydney was just sad she couldn’t go, too. The first picture was when I told Mason I wanted to take his picture.
The others were when I told him to show me how excited he was. And Sydney wanted to get in there, too.

Somedays when Sydney wakes up from sleeping, her hair can be…well, amusing. Today’s post nap coif was no exception. (Click to see it full size. You really should.)
So I took her outside where we gave her a little pedicure. She chose green, of course.

And then after a quick hair smoothing, I caught this. I may be a tad biased, but I think she is absolutely beautiful.

This past weekend, we (along with Nana and Poppy) took the kids to Cass Scenic Railroad. They LOVED it, of course. Mason is obsessed with trains, so he was plenty excited.
Sydney thought it was a little loud.
But Mason didn’t mind.
We had to endure views like this.
And to top it all off, Mason got to see inside the engine.
He was so tuckered, he fell fast asleep on the way back down the hill, shortly after this photo.

A couple photos of the kids at my mom’s on Independence Day. They loved it!

We took the kids to Cherokee Lake this past weekend, and like any self-respecting photographer I took my camera with me. And left it in the car nearly the whole time we were there. I did get a couple photos of Mason and his “little people tomatoes” and Sydney, well, looking cute.

We went out (all in our PJ’s) for a little walk early this morning because it’s HOT here right now. Even grown-ups can wear pj’s out when you live in the country! So in case you were wondering, here’s what the kids look like now.

Yesterday we went up to Nana Karen & Dad Dad’s house for some fun in the pool. Unlike last year, when we had to coax Mason into the water for about 20 minutes before he’d crack a smile, they both jumped right in and went at it.

Meanwhile, Sydney kept saying, “Let me go!” every five minutes. Regardless of how this photo appears, I did not ever let her go. We were holding on to her tight under the water. I predict she’ll be swimming by August.

The Alphabet Song, Sydney Style.

Earlier today, while Mason was playing a game on Evan’s laptop (the photo below is him excitedly saying, “I did it!” when he finished a puzzle), Sydney kept herself busy playing a word game on my phone. So much for toys.

Just a ‘Playin
Not much to report around here, but I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted. The good news: the kids play by themselves for a bit now. With toys and everything!

Next is what happened when I told Sydney to put her cheek on Mason’s cheek. She wasn’t quite following my lead.

She finally caught on, and cooperated. You know, sorta.
